Password setup

The main reason for using passwords in your office is security. For example, you can use passwords to prevent unauthorized persons from performing sensitive tasks, such as changing information, deleting transactions, accessing financial information, and so forth. You can also use passwords, in conjunction with the Audit Trail Report, to track who in your office has made changes to information in Dentrix.

When you install Dentrix, passwords are not enabled. Once you enable passwords, users must log in each time they start Dentrix. Passwords are assigned to users according to their provider or staff IDs.

Note: If you have not added all providers and staff members to Dentrix, you should do so before attempting to set up passwords.

You must also assign rights to the tasks that users perform. Users then have access to each password-protected task, according to the security rights assigned to each user.

Note: To ensure the integrity of your passwords, Henry Schein One can only make changes to or clear passwords over the phone if Henry Schein One Customer Support has remote access to your Dentrix database and a signed request on record to perform these services. Please ensure that you record your passwords in a secure location. If you lose the Password Administrator’s password, you must send your database to Henry Schein One to have all passwords cleared, along with a signed request for these services. Henry Schein One will compare the signature on the request to the signature on record prior to providing these services. Please contact Henry Schein One Customer Support to arrange for this service prior to sending your database.
